#10 Minutes
Anti-Suicide Campaign

AGC / Capstone / 2025
[Objective]

This capstone project aimed to explore a more effective way to help prevent suicidal ideation among young adults, while also raising public awareness about the growing severity of this issue. The goal was to create a solution that informs, engages, and drives meaningful action.

Early Ideation

During my early stages of ideation and problem solving, I created a graphic to help guide my research and narrow down the problem I was aiming to solve.

Research Questions

My initial research explored how UI/UX design could create more empathetic responses to suicidal prompts on search engines and social media. I continued my research within search engines, social media, and clinical studies.

Before diving into the specifics of impulse control, it’s important to understand how the brain shapes our decision-making. The prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for reasoning and self-control, develops slowly. This is why teens and young adults often act on impulse. This background will help explain why my research focuses on ages 16-22 and what factors can influence impulsive behavior.

[Problem Definition]

After conducting research and defining my initial direction, I met with my professor, who asked,

This question completely reframed my approach, shifting my solution from a purely UI/UX focus to a broader, experience-driven design.

I received feedback that the dark blue created vibrations with the red, so I adjusted the color and reapplied a new cyan.
